Classes

Retreats

  • Day-Long Retreats: Perfect for both beginners and experienced meditators, these retreats include periods of sitting, walking, and eating meditation, as well as mindful movement like Yoga and Qi Gong. They focus on specific themes such as the power of kindness, radical acceptance, or cultivating compassion, helping you deepen your practice.
  • Weekend Healing Retreats for Women Touched by Cancer: These special retreats integrate mindfulness, movement, creative expression, and other healing modalities. They offer support for women navigating a cancer diagnosis at any stage, or those supporting a loved one with cancer. Professional Workshops

Our full-day workshops provide up to 7 hours of continuing education credit for psychologists, social workers, and counselors. These can be easily adapted to meet your specific training requirements for content, duration, and CE credit. We're happy to consult with you to provide precisely what your organization needs.


  • Workshop #1: Mindfulness and Mindfulness-Based Interventions: An Introduction for Clinicians This workshop balances didactic content with experiential learning. You'll explore the evidence behind Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and other mindfulness interventions, and gain practical experience with key mindfulness practices. Clinicians will learn to guide short practices for immediate use with clients and patients.
    • Who Should Attend? Mental health and medical professionals, including psychologists, social workers, counselors, therapists, physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists.
    • Key Objectives:

  1. Understand mindfulness axioms and neurobiology
  2. Review evidence for mindfulness-based interventions
  3. Experience core practices

  • Workshop #2: Developing the Skills of the Teacher for Mindfulness-Based Interventions This workshop focuses on the continuous development of mindfulness teachers, enhancing both personal practice and mastery of four critical skill sets within a supportive community environment.
    • Key Skill Sets Developed:
      • Stewardship: Co-creating a safe and caring group environment.
      • Homiletics: Delivering didactic material engagingly, inviting conversation.
      • Guidance: Improving the experience of formal and informal practices through language and embodiment.
      • Inquiry: Mastering the art of engaging students in dialogue about their direct experience.
    • Learning Objectives:

  1. Define and demonstrate essential teaching skills

  3. Describe the benefits of a co-created mindful community for learning


Retreats for Professionals

  • Day-Long Retreats: These one-day retreats are designed for teachers of Mindfulness-Based Interventions, mindfulness-based psychotherapists, and other experienced practitioners. We emphasize 'practicing what we teach' through formal mindfulness practice, personal reflection, and group discussions on integrating mindfulness into professional life.
  • Multi-Day Retreats: Our weekend and five-day retreats are for professionals integrating mindfulness into their work. They include extended formal practice, exercises for exploring professional experiences, skill-building sessions, community building, and unstructured time for personal nourishment in natural settings.
